Travel and Tourism - BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate at East Durham College
This course consists of a combination of theoretical and practical lessons that provide an in-depth study of the travel and tourism sector. A number of educational visits will be arranged to assist you in completing your coursework, as well as allowing you to experience real life travel and tourism companies and attractions.

3 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths and English or progression from level 1 with appropriate Functional Skills at Entry 3 or above.
The majority of the units in these qualifications are assessed through internal, portfolio-based assessment generated through a range of activities, including role play, practical performance and verbal presentations. However, a small percentage of work will be externally assessed via exam-based units.
If you have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and are under the age of 19 on the 31st August, you will not usually need to pay any course fees.
Successful students could then also seek employment in a variety of sectors related to hospitality, travel and tourism or progress to a Level 3 qualification.
There is a direct progression route on to the Level 3 Travel and Tourism course.
