Forensic Sicence BTEC Level 3

Course content

This Level 3 BTEC qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge, understanding and technical skills to prepare them for employment in a forensic laboratory or to continue their study in higher education.

Mandatory Core Units - 30 credits

Unit 1 - Fundamentals of Science

Unit 2 - Working in the Science Industry

Unit 3 - Scientific Practical Techniques

Optional Unitss - 30 credits

Unit 31 - CriminologyUnit 2 - Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis

Unit 32 - Forensic Evidence Collection and Anaysis

Unit 34 - Criminal Psychology

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at grade C including English language. Also GCSE Core Science grade C AND Additional Science grade C or GCSE Core Science grade C and a Pass in BTEC Level 2 Applied Science

Assessment

Each unit is assessed by a series of assignments and the production of a portfolio whihc is internally assessed to a grading scale of Pass, Merit Dinstiction or Distinction*.
