Religious Studies at Range High School
This WJEC A-level course is designed to develop an interest in and enthusiasm for a rigorous study of Chrisianity and Judaism. This requires students to demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge of these areas studied, as well as to make connections, integrate ideas and develop concepts.
Students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners with the development of enquiring critical research, interpretational and empathetic and critical thinking skills.
The AS GCE consists of two written examinations, one per module of study, each of 1hr 15 minutes duration. Students will answer two structured essay questions from a choice of four.
The A2 GCE consists of two further written examinations, one per module of study, each of 1hr 45 minutes duration. Students will answer two structured essay questions from a choice of four on Module 3 and one structured question from a choice of three on Module 4, which is a synoptic unit and encourages students to draw upon their previous knowledge and understanding
Range High School Sixth Form (Red or Green Pathway):
C Grade in this subject or at least merit certfication on the Key Stage 4 REAP Course
Satisfactory academic and attitude references.
