Travel & Tourism BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Scarborough Sixth Form College

Course description

This course will give you an excellent foundation for a career in the travel industry and provides a good grounding for either further study or employment within the industry. The course has a wide range of visits and guest speakers from a week in Disneyland Paris to a performance skills workshop with Magic Mike as well as careers advice sessions from former students.

  • Visitor attractions
  • Working overseas
  • Work experience in travel and tourism
  • Events, conferences and exhibitions

Entry requirements

You will need to meet the level 3 BTEC entry requirements


Most units are assessed through course work with a small number examined. Coursework assessments vary from written reports, displays, presentations, role plays and event planning.

Future opportunities

Many of the students decide to progress to University to study tourism or related degrees. Others are currently working as, Travel Agents, Cruise Ship Entertainers, Children’s Representative, Hotel HR Manager, Cabin Crew, Training Manager for a tour operator and Teacher.
