Course description
This qualification is aimed at those carrying out a broad range of hospitality activities requiring a limited amount of supervision and working with some autonomy. It is designed for anyone who works in a hospitality environment and will develop the skills and confidence to work without supervision in the hospitality sector. Perfect for those in smaller hospitality establishments or those looking to cover sick or holiday leave in larger establishments.
Course content

Examples of subject areas include: Deal with communications as part of the reception function Deal with the arrival and departure of customers Serve alcoholic and soft drinks Cook and finish basic vegetable dishes
The qualification is achieved by gaining practical experience at work. You will also be required to achieve a Level 1 award in English and maths and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
Entry requirements
Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.
Future opportunities
Following the completion of your course you can progress to the advanced apprenticeship in hospitality supervision or join the industry in jobs such as team leader, waiter or silver service waiter, bar/cellar person among others.
