ASSET Language Course at Burton Borough School

Course description

You choose one language to study. These are one year courses which are offered outside the normal school day so can be attended by Year 10 or 11 students with a full GCSE timetable. They are a chance to acquire a new language, perhaps an unusual one and the ASSET scheme provides assessment at different stages so that students can build up their skills gradually. They are very appropriate for Gifted and Talented students looking to extend their knowledge of foreign languages. What will you learn? You will learn to use your chosen language in a variety of scenarios so that the vocabulary is really useful straight away. Lessons have plenty of interactive games and exercises to keep you interested and to let you practice your new words and phrases. Both Chinese and Japanese have their own scripts which you will begin to learn to write and to read.
