Performance Studies at Kettering Buccleuch Academy

Course description

This syllabus is concerned with performance across the art forms of dance, drama and music. It encourages an integrated approach alongside the requirement to specialise in two of these art forms.

Course content

The syllabus places emphasis on the understanding of the processes leading to performance and on the acquisition of the necessary skills to make such performance effective. Students will develop practical skills in each of the three areas both in performing work they have created themselves and in realising/recreating existing pieces. They will acquire the ability to discuss their performances using technical and expressive language and develop qualities of imagination, sensitivity and artistic evaluation.
