Course description

Geography at A Level enables students to engage critically with real world issues and places, apply their own geographical knowledge, understanding and skills to make sense of the world around them and to help prepare them to succeed in their chosen pathway. Our qualification offers an issue based approach to studying geography, enabling students to explore and evaluate contemporary geographical issues.

Course content

Year 12

  • Area of Study 1: Dynamic Landscapes
  • Area of Study 2: Dynamic Places

Year 13

  • Area of Study 1: Dynamic Landscapes
  • Area of Study 2: Dynamic Places
  • Area of Study 3: Physical Systems and Sustainability
  • Area of Study 4: Human Systems and Geopolitics
  • Coursework: Independent Investigation

Entry requirements

5 A* - C at GCSE

C grade in GCSE Geography or other humanities subject
