Course description

The Extended Certificate in Music is where you will gain experience and understanding of the music industry and the skills, techniques and creative aspects of creating and performing Music.

Course content

You will gain knowledge through trips to concerts and the theatre, as well as being trained to use the recording studio and producing work in there.

Entry requirements

None. Most students take thistwo year full-time programme as a means of progressing onto an advanced level music course.

This course covers a range of skills music in order to prepare you for the next step. This course is also suitable for those students with little or no previous musical experience.


Through the completion of practical and written assignments, performances in shows, concerts and events and through the use of teacher observations and video evidence.

Further information

This could lead to courses at Level3; work in media and music industries, courses at University in music, media or performing arts, professional musician, teaching.
