Further Mathematics A level at St Peter's RC High School & Sixth Form Centre
A-level Further Mathematics is available to the very best mathematicians, who will almost certainly have achieved a level 8 at GCSE. They will be willing and able to devote significant amounts of time to the study of mathematics.
Topics covered at this level build and develop the topics covered in the Maths A-level as well as additional topics which include
- complex numbers,
- polar co-ordinates
as well as the option of Decision Maths which includes linear programming, game theory, network flows and many more.
The general requirement to enter St Peter's Sixth Form to study 3 A levels, is 5 GCSEs at grade C / level 4 or above including English and Mathematics. Equivalent qualifications will be taken into account.
Required for this course:

Those students who wish to follow a 1 year course in AS Further Maths will sit 2 x 1.5 hour papers at the end of year 12. Paper 1 is called Further Pure Mathematics and Paper 2 is called Further Mathematics options.
