iMedia Diploma Level 2 at Lancaster and Morecambe College
This qualification will develop your knowledge and skills of a range of different software applications suitable for use both in the workplace and domestic environments. It has been designed to provide a route into, or further development of skills in, a wide range of job roles within the dynamic interactive media industry.
You will study the following four mandatory units: • Research for Creative Media Production • Communication Techniques for Creative Media Production • The Creative Media Sector • Media Audiences and Products and four optional specialist units: • Video Production • Audio Production • Print Production • Interactive Media Production • Photography Techniques • Animation Techniques • Web Authoring • Digital Graphics for Interactive and Print-based Media • 2D Digital Art for Computer Games • Deconstructing Computer Games • Computer Games Testing • 2D Computer Game Engines • 3D Computer Game Engines • Advertising Production • Writing for the Creative Media • Factual Production for the Creative Media • Creative Media Production Project All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills maths and English
5 GCSEs at grade A*-D including English or maths OR a Level 1 related qualification. Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.
This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including practical performance, coursework, projects, assignments, and portfolio presentation.
Students will need to provide a pen drive and their own headphones for personal use. Also general college items such as pens and pencils etc
With suitable performance at level 2, you may progress onto the Film and TV Production Extended Diploma Level 3, Computer Games Development Extended Diploma Level 3 or IT Practitioners Extended Diploma Level 3.
You will be expected to undertake regular home study on this course.
On completion of this course you will receive Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Creative Media Production.
