Entry requirements

Students must have at least a grade B or above in both their GCSE Core Science and in their Additional Science GCSE or a grade B in Physics GCSE.  In addition students must have at least a grade B in each of the Physics modules for both GCSE’s.  Students must also have a grade B in Mathematics and a grade C in English Language.

Pass the AS course with a grade C or above.

Assessment

Assessment of content and practical skills is through public examinations.  Key practical skills will also be assessed directly by a teacher as part of normal lessons.

Future opportunities

Following higher education, any science-related career e.g. medicine, information technology, computer control, mechanical engineering, electrical / electronic engineering, astrophysics and related subjects.
