Information Technology, Level 3 Extended Diploma at Abingdon and Witney College
The topics covered include; practical experience in a variety of software packages, investigation into how IT is used in the world of business, an introduction to programming and the concept of program design, testing and implementation. In addition, communication technology and the importance of the Internet and the World Wide Web - including designing, creating and managing a website. The College has well established links with creative and cultural industries within Oxfordshire and beyond. We use these links to ensure you get a real-world experience. Assessment is mainly by internally assessed coursework.
Students must have a keen interest in the use of Information Technology and five GCSEs at grade C or above in relevant subjects including English and Maths (or Level 2 Functional Skills English/ Maths). A Merit grade for BTec Level 2 Diploma in IT (or equivalent courses) can be used towards entry requirements. Mature students who do not have the necessary qualifications will be considered at interview.
