Information and Technology at Hanham Woods Academy

Course description

In this course students have the opportunity to learn how ICT is used in a practical way as well as developing key skills for later academic and working life. The course is made up of six units, three of which are compulsory and of which one is an exam. The rest of the units are coursework and cover subjects such as creating websites, multimedia Flash products, project management spreadsheets, database and how ICT is applied in the world of work and society in general.

GO40: Using ICT to Communicate Analysis and creation of a range of automatic digital business resources

GO41: ICT in the Workplace Exam based on a scenario and understanding how a business can utilise ICT, as well as understanding the law surrounding ICT

GO42: ICT Solutions for Individuals and Society Analyse a problem, collect data successfully from a range of sources and create a useful spreadsheet to help model different scenarios.

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
