BIOLOGY A LEVEL (RPA) at Richmond Park Academy - RPA
Biology is concerned with living things and with many of today’s problems. As such, studying biology could give you the skills to overcome sickness, produce more food and conserve natural resources. Biologists work in many fields but some of the main areas of employment are health services, agricultural services, environmental protection, food sciences, education and in the pharmaceutical industry.
The exam board for Key Stage 5 is AQA, we offer all three sciences at A Level and they are very popular. In biology, students will study the human body, ecological relationships and genetic variation. All students have some key practical activities which they are expected to carry out and will get assessed on the skills they gained from doing so, however, in addition to this all topics lend themselves well to a plethora of lab work and help hone the students’ practical skills.
