Course description

Year 12 - AS level

AS Module 1
C1 - Algebra and functions; coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane; sequences and series; differentiation; integration.

AS Module 2
C2 - Algebra and functions; coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane; sequences and series; trigonometry; exponentials and logarithms; differentiation; integration.

AS Module 3
S1 - Mathematical models in probability and statistics; representation and summary of data; measure of dispersion; probability; correlation; regression; discrete random variables; the normal distribution

Year 13 - A2 level

A2 Module 4 C3 - Algebra and functions; trigonometry; exponentials and logarithms; differentiation; numerical methods

A2 Module 5
C4 - Algebra and functions; sequences and series; coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane; binomial expansion; differentiation; vectors; integration.

A2 Module 6
M1 - Mathematical models in mechanics; vectors in mechanics; kinetics of a particle moving in a straight line or plane; statics of a particle; moments.

Entry requirements

To enter the AS/A Level Mathematics course, you will need to have reached Grade A in Mathematics GCSE.

If you achieve a Grade B your eligibility for the course will be decided by your Maths teacher.
