Advanced Apprenticeship in Installing Electrotechnical Systems at SBC Training

Course description

This course is for those people who want to develop skills and enhance their technical capability to enable them to pursue a career as an installation or maintenance electrician working in domestic, industrial, commercial, leisure and agricultural buildings, structures and environments.

Course content

The following qualifications will need to be completed to gain framework certification:
Competence and Knowledge based –
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment. This qualification provides the in depth knowledge, theory and skills required to perform safely and efficiently within the electrotechnical industry and reflects the competencies recognised as the benchmark for qualified electrotechnical operatives.
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.
  • Certificate of Achievement of Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills recognition.

Entry requirements

Successful applicants are likely to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at A-C grades including communication subjects, maths and/or science/technical based qualifications. Employers can nominate existing employees who they feel have the ability to meet the challenges of this course despite not having all of the entry qualifications.

Assessment

Following enrolment, learners engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include attendance at group training sessions, on a day release basis, self-directed learning and face to face support from their trainer.
