Media Cambridge Technical Level 3 at Sydenham School - Sydenham and Forest Hill Sixth Form
This course aims to offer students the chance to combine production work with an exploration of the ways in which media products are professionally constructed and generated.
Students learn about an industry sector of their choice, and have the chance to develop relevant media skills.
The Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Digital Media will give you the opportunity to explore digital media, moving image and audio production.
This is equivalent to 1 A level.
Students will develop skills in media analysis and production and will learn to apply their practical skills and knowledge. This will allow your creativity and flair to be harnessed in the design and production of media products used within the industry.
Students will develop conceptual ideas, and visualise these all the way through the production cycle; from planning and pre-production right through to editing, postproduction and presentation of products.
You will also learn how to analyse target audience requirements, research market demand and bring a media concept alive.
Students will also gain an understanding of how different businesses and organisations in the media sector work.
Grade 4 in GCSE English Language, or MERIT in the OCR National Certificate in Media (Level 2)
Please Note; the Level 2 National Certificate (Merit or Distinction) provides a progression route to Applied Media and other A-Levels, but is not an entry requirement for this course.
Minimum point score of 38 including Maths and English at grade 4 at GCSE. This is equivalent to 4B and 4C grades overall at GCSE. Students will also need to achieve the subject specific criteria below:
