Creative Media Production BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Walsall College

Course description

The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production is an exciting and challenging course which encourages you to gain a basic understanding of the media industry enabling you to make informed choices with regard to your future career. This course is for those who are interested in film making, radio production/broadcasting or using computers to create a magazine. The course is highly practical but all students will study the underpinning theories related to each subject. Students will often work on very creative projects such as the production of a short film, a documentary for television or live radio broadcasting.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grades D to G (including a curriculum-related subject). Or successful completion of a Level 1 related qualification.

Assessment

Regular formative and summative assessment based on project work graded at Pass, Merit and Distinction levels. You will build a portfolio of work which is regularly discussed with tutors.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the course may lead directly onto Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production.
