History A level at Edgbarrow School
GCSE History at grade B or above. If you wish to do the A Level without sitting History GCSE this is permissible as long as you have achieved a grade B or above in English Language.
This is a 2 year A Level which will be examined at the end of Year 13. Students will study the following units as well as completing an historical investigation (coursework):
Unit 1 – The Tudors, 1485-1603
Unit 2 – Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1919-45
Historical Investigation – a study of the impact of events and individuals on the history of the 20th Century.
There are many career paths that students can follow with a History qualification - business management, marketing, sales, advertising, public relations, law, journalism, the civil service, teaching, the police force, media work and many more.
