Plastering City & Guilds Diploma Level 2 at Bradford College

Course description

This Level 2 course allows you to develop and practise the basic skills and knowledge gained from Level 1 required for employment and/or career progression in Plastering.

Course content

The course covers the following skills:

  • Apply plastering materials to interiors
  • Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
  • Lay sand and cement screeds
  • Apply plastering materials to external backgrounds.

You will also continue to develop and study principles of building construction, information and communication.

Entry requirements

You do not need to be employed.

You should have Level 1 Diploma in Plastering or an equivalent. Previous experience in the trade will also be considered by attending an interview.

You should have Literacy and Numeracy skills at a minimum of Level 1. If you have no evidence to support this, you may be asked to carry out an assessment to confirm that you are at this level.

If you do not hold a Grade A*-C in Mathematics or English you will study these subjects as part of your course. If you have a Grade D or Level 2 Functional Skill you will work towards achieving a Grade A*-C.

You will also attend an information/taster session where you should show enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to succeed on the course.

Assessment

The course is assessed by continuous practical assessments, knowledge based assessments for each unit and an on-line exam.
