NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Entry to the Uniformed Services at Kingston College

Course description

This course will introduce you to the intermediate skills which you will need for your chosen service. It will be a mix of theory and practical sessions and you will need to buy and wear the course uniform during your time at college. The qualification will develop learner's skills and personal qualities in preparation for all areas of employment and provide a basis for further study and motivation towards career development. Another aim of this qualification is to promote positive attitudes and responses to differences in gender, social and cultural backgrounds and abilities of individuals.

As a student on this course, you are eligible to apply for one of our Sports Academies

Course content

A range of units that will aid students in gaining experience and knowledge of the uniformed services. Units studied may include: teamwork, leadership, discipline, fitness and testing and adventurous activities. Students also continue to study GCSE English and Mathematics if they have not already achieved a grade C/4 or above. Work experience forms an essential element of this study programme.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English Language and Mathematics or a Level 1 at a Pass grade plus GCSE English and Mathematics or Functional Skills at Level 1. Successful interview and satisfactory reference are also required.

    • The site at Kingston Hall Road is the College's main site and houses the Student Registry and Welfare departments as well as Deli KC and the ACT Theatre.  The Arena Sports facility and Arena Hair and Beauty are both attached to this building, which also houses the central administration facility for the College.
