Human Biology AS and A level at Eastbrook Comprehensive School

Course description

We are currently offering 2 Biology courses in the North East Consortium. The courses aim to stimulate, develop and sustain an interest in Biology or Human Biology. A good understanding of biological facts and principles will be developed, with particular emphasis on the human, social and applied aspects of the subject. Biology is the study of life, from the simplest organism to the most complex multi-cellular organism. Starting from the basics of biochemistry and cell biology, students will build an understanding of how living systems work, and how sometimes they go wrong in disease. The Human Biology course has strong focus on the workings of the human body systems and practical techniques used in medicine today. Students will also further develop their experimental skills when investigating a number of topics within the syllabus.
