BTEC Level 3 in Performing Arts at Claremont High School Academy
The BTEC Performing Arts course is delivered through largely practical-based sessions, led by a team of highly skilled staff.
This qualification offers a broad educational base in the area of Performing Arts, allowing you to develop your abilities through the knowledge and skills you will gain in the different parts of the programme. Alongside the core unit of Performing to an Audience, you will study a range of topics that include Contemporary Theatre Performance, Musical Theatre Performance and Dance Performance.
Your learning will be supported by visits to see live theatre, taking part in performances and participating in workshops led by professional artists. The school has strong links with local, regional and national Performing Arts organisations; these links are used to provide opportunities for all students on the Performing Arts courses.
Students who have studied Performing Arts at Claremont have continued their vocational training at places which include RADA, Arts Ed, Mountview Theatre School and Urdang Dance Academy. Others have used the skills developed on the course to take up a wide variety of undergraduate courses at Universities ranging from Loughborough to Liverpool John Moore’s and from Queen Mary’s to King’s College. This course helps to develop transferrable skills, relevant to other areas of study, to employment and to life.

Minimum C or equivalent in Performing Arts related subject e.g. Music, Drama, Dance, Expressive or Performing Arts. Students without a relevant qualification at this level will be required to audition.
