Performing Arts ( Acting) (90 Credit) L3 Diploma at North Lindsey College
All the world’s a stage according to Shakespeare, and we’re all actors. This course
shows you what it takes to turn natural talent into a career and make dreams of performing on stage or film and television a reality. The Level 3 (90 Credit) Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting) is a one year course with the qualification being equivalent to
3 AS Levels or 1.5 A Level qualifications.
This highly practical course has a strong emphasis on preparing you for the professional performance industry. You will participate in a variety of units all designed to enhance and develop your natural acting ability. The skills developed in these units are then applied to many public theatre performances throughout the year. The performing projects are designed to be a realistic experience of the theatre profession and will prepare you for higher education or a range of work opportunities in the industry.
- 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C
- An audition consisting of a 2 - 3 minute monologue of your choice, taking part in a workshop and interview
- A satisfactory reference
- Students who have successfully achieved a First Diploma qualification and met their personal targets are also eligible for the course.
Your work will be assessed by your tutors, and you will be graded at pass, merit or distinction against the grading criteria that make up the units that you will be studying. You will be given vocational assignments by your tutors that will allow us to assess your work for particular units. In this way, you will be expected to produce the same high standard of work that would be expected of you in the industry that you are training to work in. GCSEs will be assessed by an examination.
On completion of the 90 Credit Diploma you could progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma. Professional guidance is given on entry into university, drama school, theatre management, teaching or launching you straight into the industry with advice given regarding acquiring a theatrical agent.
