Media BTEC Level 1 at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

Course description

This course offers students an in-depth introduction to Media, with a focus on practical elements, including animation, creating magazines and photography. The course is particularly useful for those who may wish to progress onto the Level 2 BTEC, as it provides a strong grounding of the subject and development of skills.

As well as a wide range of practical skills, students will work in groups encouraging confidence building and the development of personal learning and thinking skills to a high level. Attention to detail is a must for those wishing to progress and students will be provided with feedback and support in order to achieve high levels of quality work. The course os very much based around the individuals' journey of learning and progression with time allowed for reflection and improvement of work.

Applicants require GCSEs in any subjects, Grades D-G, or BTEC Skills for Working Life (Creative & Media)

Students are offered a variety of trips from visits including The Museum of Advertising and Branding, the Warner Bros. Studios and Sky studios.
