Electrical Installation C & G 2365 Certificate Level 2 at New College Nottingham

Course description

If you’re a logical thinker, enjoy problem solving and interested in pursuing a career in electrical engineering, this course is perfect to kick start your career.

Whether you want to start your own business or become part of a team, this qualification will get you started on the right path to become a trained electrician.

There are many avenues to explore for this trade and a number of career options to choose from with an excellent annual salary of between £23k and £55k in Nottingham.

Jobs range from Installation Electricians and Maintenance Electricians to Machine Repair and Rewind Electricians and Electrotechnical Panel Builders.

The specialist workshops at ncn Basford Hall simulate a real working environment and include all the latest facilities and equipment.

Course content

The course delivers a good mix of practical and theory-based modules to ensure you learn both functional skills as well as gain a broad academic understanding of the industry.

You will learn aspects of domestic and industrial electrical systems and will cover areas such as electrical science, electrical installations technology, and health and safety.

Depending on which area you decide to specialise in, you may choose from a number of different pathways, including:

  • Installation (buildings and structures) 
  • Electrical maintenance 
  • Highway electrical systems 
  • Installing instrumentation and associated equipment 
  • Electrotechnical panel building 
  • Electrical machine rewind and repair.

Entry requirements

Students must have ALL of the following:

  • Minimum of two GCSE's at grades A*-C including English and Maths - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English
  • Satisfactory completion of practical assessment

Adults 19+ who have industry experience but do not have the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

Assessment

You will complete four multiple choice online tests and two theory/practical tests.
