Music Technology Level 3 Diploma at Redbridge College

Course description

Are you ready to take your behind-the-scenes music career to the next level? If you would like to work as a producer or sound engineer then this is the course for you. You’ll develop your skills in composing, sequencing, programming, audio editing and recording as well as building the entrepreneurial skills required to start a successful career.

Course content

Units you will study include:

  • Music production techniques
  • Listening skills for music technologists
  • Planning and delivering a music project
  • Sequencing systems and techniques
  • The sound and music industry

Entry requirements

You will need to have five GCSEs at grade C or above, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Music Technology. You are also required to bring a CD or USB containing your own compositions created through the use of computer technology to your interview. you may also bring in a demo tape, a CD or USB of any DJ-ing or remixing you have done.    

Assessment

You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of staff who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. You will be assessed through individual projects set throughout the course, building a portfolio of work in different subjects.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will be able to enter employment in the music industry or further enhance your skills and knowledge by progressing to university to study a related degree or HND. Potential career paths include music composer, sound engineer, music technology teacher or independent producer.
