Mathematics - GCSE at Longley Park Sixth Form College

Course description

We offer several courses leading to qualifications in Mathematics.  We will work with you to identify your current level at the start of the course.  You will study Maths at the right level to develop your skills.

Course content

You will build on the work you did at your previous school and improve your numeracy skills.  The course covers topics such as number, shape and space, statistics and algebra.  You will often learn through practical activities and group work.

Entry requirements

To study GCSE in one year you will need a grade 3/D. If you do not have a grade 3/D, there are other courses available which build up your skills to prepare you for GCSE.

If you achieved a grade 4/C in GCSE Maths at school and your career choice requires a higher grade, we also offer a special GCSE course to help you achieve this.

You will take an exam at the right level for you.  On some courses you will have the opportunity to take the exam at different points in the year.  On the GCSE course you will have examinations at the end of the year.

Everything you must have to undertake the course will be provided by college.  You may have to pay for extras such as trips/visits.
