Course description

Level 2 will suit you if you are already working in a school and want a qualification that proves your skills and helps you develop your career.Level 2 certificates are also comprised of both mandatory and optional units, including: - Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people (3 credits) - Help improve own and team practice in schools (3 credits) - Support children and young people's positive behaviour (2 credits) - Provide displays in schools (3 credits) - Provide support for therapy sessions (2 credits)You will also have to study: Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICTEmployee rights and responsibilitiesPersonal Learning and Thinking skills

Course content

This apprenticeship is suitable for those who have just started working in schools as a teaching assistant and want to progress in their careers.

Entry requirements

You will need suitable employment as a Teaching Assistant in a school and pass an initial assessment in English and Maths.

Assessment

The certificate is assessed through building a portfolio of evidence which includes observations by your allocated assessor.Functional Skills qualifications are assessed through examinations.
