Course description

Vocational units (all units are mandatory): Carry out safe working practices in construction; Information, quantities and communicating with others; Building methods and construction technology; Produce basic woodworking joints; Maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools; Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools.

Entry requirements

You must be able to demonstrate commitment and motivation to attend the course and a willingness to study theoretical and practical components.

Assessment

Each unit contains practical and theoretical training with a unit end test, together with a synoptic practical test and there is a final on-line external exam.

Financial information

Students will be expected to provide their own overalls, safety shoes and contribute to the cost of any additional enrichment activities. If you are aged 19 or over materials fees of £40 are payable on enrolment.
