Sport BTEC Level 3 at Plympton Academy

Course description

Students can choose to study the National Extended Certificate (equivalent to 1 A Level) or the National Diploma (equivalent to 2 A Levels).

Each of the pathways offers a number of units, some of which are mandatory and others that are carefully selected to allow you to progress to your full potential. Some of the topics that are studied are:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being
- Professional Development in the Sports Industry
- Sports Leadership
- Investigating Business in Sport and Active Leisure
- Acquiring Skill in Sport
- Practical Sports Performance
- Coaching for Performance
- Sports Psychology

Future opportunities

These highly successful courses offer fantastic career and academic progression opportunities.

Past students have continued their studies at University, on such courses as: PE teaching; Sports Coaching; Sports Science; and Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. This will then provide a pathway into these careers, as well as other careers such as the Armed Forces, business and service industry.
