Fine Art A Level at Chilwell School

Course description

Fine Art offers opportunities to use your creativity to express yourself. You will develop your understanding of creative processes, your ability to observe and to think, to solve problems and to communicate in a visual way. It will enable you to work independently and to make your own discoveries by exploring ideas, other artists’ work and different materials and techniques. Fine Art gives you the skills and knowledge to create personal and imaginative work. If you have an adventurous, creative and enquiring mind, and are excited by both traditional Art and post-modern movements, then this is the course for you.

Entry requirements

Additional entry requirements: Students will need a minimum grade C GCSE Art.


AS Assessment

  • Unit 1 – Coursework
  • Unit 2 – Externally Set Assignment

A2 Assessment

  • Unit 3 – Personal Investigation
  • Unit 4 – Externally Set Assignment
