Course description

Builds on the work you have covered at GCSE such as algebra, functions and trigonometry, extends it at a higher level and introduces calculus.

Entry requirements

Pathway 1: For 4 AS Levels & General Studies ? 6 or more A*-C at GCSE with at least a grade B in the 4 subjects chosen to study. ? Pathway 2: For 3 AS Levels & General Studies ? 6 A*-C at GCSE with at least a grade B in the 3 subjects chosen to study

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement an Advanced GCE in Mathematics or as part of the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Further Mathematics, which will support entry to higher education in areas of Mathematics, Electronics, Economics, Physics or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Mathematics such as an Accountant, Engineer or Teacher. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the economic and engineering sectors.
