Course description

An 'A' level in modern languages is obviously a passport to Higher Education but moreover in an ever expanding Europe the possibility to use the language in every day work situations. A good combination of intellectual and practical openings for the future.Apart from the obvious career benefits of a language, travel is becoming more readily available to us all it is becoming easier and cheaper. A Sixth Form language course will give you much more confidence and capability to approach foreign people readily and to communicate with them, forming new friendships and contacts. Indeed, Modern Languages are of real value in modern day Europe, in both your career and leisure pursuits.The A2 modules will include topic areas listed under - French/German/Spanish speaking countries, Media and Environmental Issues.

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level course or equivalent to prepare for higher education in German, other languages or more general higher education courses.With further training, you could go into a job related to German or European Languages such as a Teacher, Translator, or you may wish to use your German to study or work over in Germany.The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the travel and tourism sector.
