Barbering Level 2 Diploma at Lancaster and Morecambe College
This full time level 2 course will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to be able to cut & style men’s hair and facial hair.
You will cover a range of the following topics: • Cutting Techniques • Facial Hair Shaping • Dry and Finish Men’s Hair • Advise and Consult With Clients • Create Basic Patterns in the Hair • Health and Safety • Personal Presentation • Promotion of Products and Services
The course is delivered covering both theoretical and practical aspects of the qualification with demonstrations and practical workshops.
All students aged 16-19 are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade A*-C in these subjects. If you have a grade D at GCSE you will study maths and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D will work towards GCSE through the study of Maths & English Functional Skills.
5 GCSEs at grade A*-D including English or maths OR a Level 1 related qualification. Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.
This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including practical observation, online tests and assignments, and the production of a portfolio of work.

It can lead on to Level 2/3 NVQ/Diploma in Hairdressing, Barbering, the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Barbering and employment within a barbering salon.
On completion of this course you will receive a City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Barbering.
