Course description

ICT is a crucial tool which is used globally and this course will help you to develop research skills in this important subject. You explore the way in which information is used and controlled and assess the impact of technology in a range of real life situations. Your knowledge will increase through the planning, implementation and monitoring of the use of ICT. The course will help you to develop research skills in ICT. Course content

A Level (year two) Unit IT3 - Use and Impact of ICT This module is about the use and impact of ICT, across a range of commercial areas. Unit IT4 - Relational Databases This module requires candidates to produce a relational database project. The database project does not have to be based in an actual commercial context, but it should be realistic.

Entry requirements

There is no need to have studied ICT at school; although, a grade C in English Language is required.

Assessment

Assessment will be based on coursework (45%) and examinations (55%). All students will be assessed throughout the course, using homeworks, theory tests and practically based assessment.
