Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering - various pathways at Kingston College
Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for an employer, earn a salary and at the same time study to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience. Please note, Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships are not available to International students.
Pathways include: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician, Product Design and Development Technician, Toolmaker and Tool and Die Maintenance Technician, Technical Support Technician.
All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum:
- An employer approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and Mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to taking an end point assessment.

Employment in an engineering organisation. Depending on the employer, a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A*-C/9-4 including Mathematics, English and Science. An interest in the design and manufacture of products or electro-mechanical engineering maintenance is essential.
Assessment is continuous both in College and the work place.
HNC in Mechanical, General or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
