Course description

Information Technology is a part of our everyday lives in the way that we communicate, work and spend our leisure time. It now underpins everything that we do and has changed our vision, from local to global, in just a few decades.

There are numerous careers in IT, and this course aims to give a good foundation to embark upon many different journeys. Web design, digital graphics, game development and IT support are some of the possible careers stemming from the successful completion of this course.

Course content

There are a number of core units, which include communications and employability for employment, computer systems, information systems, and software design and development. Optional units are also taken, including web design, digital graphics, game development, animation, system support and modelling.

Future opportunities

Higher education possibilities would include an IT based degree or a Level 4 BTEC Higher National in IT. Other possibilities would include an apprenticeship in IT
