Bricklaying (Trowel Occupations) Intermediate Apprenticeship at Grimsby Institute
Construction is a multi-million pound industry that deals with developing and building
anything from a housing estate to a bridge.
The Brickwork pathway is suitable for the following Apprenticeship job roles:
- Royal Engineer (Bricklayer & Concrete Specialist) - Working to given specifications in a Military environment in the UK or overseas setting out basic structures, building brick and block walling, laying domestic drainage, placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces.
- Bricklayer - Working on a construction site, to given specifications, setting out basic structures, building brick and block walling, laying domestic drainage, placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces.
- Craft Mason - Working to given specifications, setting out and erecting masonry structures, placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces
Whilst learning the skills of the industry with an employer you will complete an Apprenticeship framework including individualised training.
Training is delivered on a day release basis at the Institute where a Tutor will monitor
Most occupations require a minimum of grade C in English, Maths and ICT, although some only require a minimum of grade D.
Some occupations within the Engineering sector will require Science at a minimum of grade C.
A Vocational Assessment may have to be taken and passed for some Apprenticeships before acceptance onto the programme.
You will be allocated an Assessor who will conduct assessments in the workplace.
