Course description

The Business Communication Systems course regularly uses various software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets & databases. There are a number of units that form the majority of the course, which include: The business environment Business organisation Human Resources Recruitment & selection Training & remuneration Presentation software Communication Motivation Hardware & Networks Databases & Spreadsheets Business Communication Systems is an optional GCSE subjects that istaught in mixed ability groups. The subject supports the school in delivering your entitlement to Work Related Learning. Furthermore, this subjects has links with a number of other subjects across the curriculum and aspects of literacy, numeracy, ICT and enterprise occur throughout the departmental schemes of work.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Business Studies or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to business studies, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and public relations. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
