Bricklaying Diploma - Level 3 at Dudley College
This course is for people interested in a career as a trades person, working in the construction industry. This course is ideal for developing skills in Brickwork. This is a practical and theory based course which consists of you working through a number of technical and practical units.
The Brickwork City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma will need you to complete specific units and topics. You will work towards the following units to make up the full qualification:
- Unit 201/601 Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
- Unit 101/501 Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication
- Unit 302 Repair and Maintain Masonry Structures
- Unit 303 Constructing Radial and Battered Brickwork
- Unit 304 Carrying Out Decorative and Reinforced Brickwork
- Unit 305 Constructing Fireplaces and Chimneys
Each unit will include an externally set assessment to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the unit.
Level 2 Diploma/NVQ in Bricklaying is essential together with a successful interview.
Practical assignments and multiple choice unit tests. You must also pass the GOLA online test.
There is no need to worry about the costs of coming to college as there is lots of financial help available. Our finance and welfare officers will be able to talk to you about any help that may be available to you based on your individual circumstances.

Students aged 16-18 attending a full-time further education course can apply to the 16-18 Bursary Fund for help with college related costs. Free BUS PASS
We will provide a free bus pass to help with travel costs for 16-18* year olds on full-time programmes, based on individual circumstances**. To qualify for a free bus pass***, you must live more than one mile from the campus at which you will be studying and not already be in receipt of other financial support, such as Care to Learn funding.
*Under 19 as at 31 August 2017.
**Students with learning difficulties or disabilities who are unable to access public transport may still be able to receive help – talk to our Student Finance team.
***Evidence of family income will need to be provided.
