Psychology Level 2 Certificates at East Norfolk Sixth Form College

Course description

Psychology is the science of the human mind and human behaviour. It involves looking at why we think and behave in the way that we do.

In this course you will learn what psychology is about and the different approaches psychologists use to explain the human mind and behaviour. In addition, the course will involve understanding how to design and conduct a piece of psychological research.

Course content

You will study a variety of modules including:

  • Definitions and illustration of psychological concepts
  • Adult Cognitive processes
  • Social psychology
  • Individual differences
  • Obedience
  • Atypical Behaviour
  • Planning, doing and analysing research
  • Planning an investigation

Entry requirements

Grade D in GCSE English Language, Maths and Science.


Awarding Body – Ascentis

Candidates must write an essay or report (1000 – 1200 words) on a chosen theory, model or principle in mainstream Psychology and undertake a written assessment of up to 90 minutes under supervised conditions.
