Understanding Mental Health Problems City and Guilds at London Learning Consortium

Course description

Delegates will be provided with knowledge of the main forms of mental health problems according to the psychiatric classification system. Delegates also consider the strengths and limitations of this model and look at alternative frameworks for understanding mental distress.The training will also focus on understanding the different ways in which mental health problems impact on the individual and others in their social network. It also considers the benefits of early intervention in promoting mental health and wellbeing.


Delegates will put together a portfolio of work products, (including observation of workplace practice) which will be marked by the assessor, internally verified by the IV before certification is awarded via City & Guilds.
