BTEC Level 2 Business at Seaford Head School and 6th form centre

Course description


A BTEC First Certificate in Business is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic business situations. It will give you the opportunity to develop essential skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

Ideal for those with a keen interest in the business world! Work related practical activities BTEC equivalent to two GCSE’s A* C, coursework based  on business  scenarios , small external  assessment worth up to 25% of the qualification, leads to a wide range of careers in Business.


Course content

The course is made up of core/mandatory and optional units (8 units in total),  covering a wide range of topic   areas including:

  • Enterprise in the Business World,
  • Finance for Business ,
  • Principles of Marketing,
  • Promoting a Brand, 
  • Principles of Customer Service
  • Recruitment, Selection and Employment Forecasting.


Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D including English and Mathematics


Units are assessed via coursework that is based on the study of business scenarios. There will also be an external assessment worth up to 25% of the qualification.


Future opportunities

After this course you can continue your studies at Seaford Head School Sixth Form on the  ‘BTEC Level 3  National Extended Certificate or National Diploma in Business’.
