English Language - iGCSE re-sit AQA at Churchdown School Academy
1 Year course
Re-sitting the English Language iGCSE requires you to retake your final exam and improve your coursework project and speaking and listening mark and grade.
You will revise for Paper One and you will be assessed on:
Section A: Reading literary non-fiction
Section B: Writing to describe or narrate The exam is two hours long.
Pathway 1: 4 A levels
• 5 A* to C Grades in GCSEs, including Maths and English, and meeting any subject specific requirements (see below)
Pathway 2: A combination of A levels and Level 3 Vocational Courses
• 5 A*to C Grades (Merits in BTEC and Vocational Courses) and meeting any subject specific requirements (see below)
Pathway 3: Level 3 Vocational Courses
• 5 A* to C Grades including Level 2 equivalents
If a C grade has not been achieved at GCSE in Maths and English, students will need to retake these qualifications. This will count as one of the 4 courses.
Where could this lead?
Without a ‘C’ or above in English, you may find it very difficult to get onto a further education coures and some employers demand it as standard.
Therefore, it is vital that you secure this qualification.
