Multi-skilling is encouraged as it plays such an important role in the new media industry. The course is both rewarding and challenging and is designed to assist students in coping with the ever changing world of media and communication.
You will be introduced into the creative world of the media industries. Theoretical areas covered during the year include research techniques used in the new Media industries, communication skills, looking at the creative media sector and research media audiences and products.
You should have basic IT skills including the ability to search the World Wide Web. The IT skills associated with the course will be developed, as they are required. You will need to have some creative skills to visualise the final product before production starts.
All of your assessment will involve coursework that will involve you in working on your own outside lesson times. For most of the units you will be acquiring a wide variety of software skills and using these skills to produce solutions to problems.
