Hair & Media Make-Up (QCF) Level 2 VTCT Diploma at Kidderminster College
This qualification provides learners with all the required elements to work effectively as a hair and make-up artist including: the art of dressing hair, the art and application of photographic make-up, client care and communication, health and safety practices, creating images based on themes, making and styling hair additions, colouring and lightening hair and applying skin tanning techniques.
Under 19s are required to supply evidence of four GCSEs at grade F or above (including English and three other academic subjects) and a Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Mature learners are welcome, a good standard of education is essential.
Your practical skills will be assessed throughout the course in a commercial salon setting. Your underpinning knowledge of theory will be tested via written tests, oral questioning and assignments. Work placement will be part of the course. Functional skills or GCSE English and maths are also included.
It will be necessary to purchase a kit and uniform with shoes (£TBC)
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy Make-up, Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing, Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Hair and Media Make-up, Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Make-Up Studies.
This qualification aims to prepare learners for employment as a junior hair and make-up artist.
