Entry requirements

It is recommended that students wishing to study Art at AS/A2 level should have gained a minimum of Grade C at GCSE or an equivalent portfolio of work. Students need to show enthusiasm for and commitment to Art.

Assessment

AS Component 1: Portfolio • 96 marks • 60% of AS Non-exam assessment (NEA) set and marked by the centre and moderated by AQA during a visit to the centre. Visits will normally take place in June.

Component 2: Externally set assignment • Preparatory period + 5 hours supervised time • 96 marks • 40% of AS Non-exam assessment (NEA) set by AQA, marked by the centre and moderated by AQA during a visit to the centre. Visits will normally take place in June.

 

A2 Component 1: Personal investigation • 96 marks • 60% of A-level Non-exam assessment (NEA) set and marked by the centre and moderated by AQA during a visit to the centre. Visits will normally take place in June.

Component 2: Externally set assignment • Preparatory period + 15 hours supervised time • 96 marks • 40% of A-level Non-exam assessment (NEA) set by AQA, marked by the centre and moderated by AQA during a visit to the centre. Visits will normally take place in June.
