AS PE- One year course

 

30% practical: one sport in a fully sided competitive performance and one written analysis of performance.

70% theory: 2 hour exam.

Multiple choice, short answer and extended writing.

 

A2 PE- Two year course

 

30% practical: one sport in a fully sided competitive performance and two written analysis of performance.

70% theory: two exams of two hours.

Paper one and Paper two both at the end of the second year.

Multiple choice, short answer and extended writing.

Exercise physiology and biomechanics

Sport psychology

Sport and society and technology in sport

Entry requirements

At least a C in GCSE Sport

Future opportunities

Physical Education is a good subject for entry to degree courses such as Sport and Exercise science, Teaching (particularly PE), Physiotherapy, Leisure Management and is suitable for other non-specific courses.  A number of our recent A level students have gone on to study sports related courses in University.  Physical Education is also suitable for those wishing to go into the armed forces, police or fire service.
